Natural Horn Workshop

Workshop Faculty

Richard Seraphinoff is professor of modern horn and early music at the IU Jacobs School. He has performed on modern horn with the Michigan Opera Theater, Toledo Symphony, Detroit symphony, Smithsonian Chamber Players, and many others. On natural horn, he has performed and recorded with nearly every period instrument orchestra in the USA and many in Europe and elsewhere. Mr. Seraphinoff is also a maker of reproductions of natural horns.

2026 Fees and Deadlines

Fees

  • Tuition: $930
    • A $100 non-refundable registration fee is due at registration (credited towards the overall cost of tuition)
    • If you do not wish to pay tuition in full at the time of initial registration, please do not select the tuition option prior to completing registration, and select only the registration fee. Please be aware that tuition must be paid in full by the payment deadline in order to participate in the program.
  • Housing and Parking (optional): 2026 rates coming in late 2025
    • The posted rate covers housing from check-in on Sunday June 7 to checkout on Saturday June 13. Additional nights may be purchased for an additional fee.

*Included in the cost of housing is a Linen Package (including pillowcase, top and bottom sheet, two washcloths and towels; blankets and pillows available upon request) and a complimentary 1-week parking permit.

  • Commuter Parking: $15
    • A 1-week parking pass is recommended for commuters. Dormitory residents will receive a complimentary 1-week permit.

*To be considered for Financial Aid, you must complete your registration, paying only the non-refundable registration fee, prior to submitting your financial aid application.

Financial Aid

  1. Those looking to apply for need-based financial aid should indicate their intent to do so on their program registration form.
  2. The family must complete the Financial Aid application and submit the required supporting documents to the Jacobs Academy Office via a provided secure upload link. 
  3. The Jacobs Academy Coordinator will contact you if further supporting documentation is needed for the committee review.

*Please be aware that late applications for financial aid will not be accepted.

How to Apply

REGISTRATION FOR SUMMER 2026 WILL OPEN IN DECEMBER 2025

  1. Eligibility: Participants, 18-years and older.
  2. Registration: Complete the online registration form and pay the Non-Refundable Registration Fee ($100) and tuition.
    • If you do not wish to pay tuition in full at the time of initial registration, please do not select the tuition option prior to completing registration, and select only the registration fee. Please be aware that tuition must be paid in full by the payment deadline in order to participate in the program.
    • Save your login information so you can easily go back to edit your registration/tuition payment.

Once you have completed the previous steps, please submit the Participant Agreement Form
