In Young Winds, we provide small-group lessons and full band experience to elementary and middle school-age students who have already begun playing woodwind, brass, electric bass, or percussion instruments. We supplement the instruction your child receives in school band programs, strengthening their musicianship in a safe and positive environment.
Peter Miksza is professor of music education at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses with emphases on music teacher preparation. Prior to IU, Peter taught band in New Jersey, and taught at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Christina Herman is a PhD music education student at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music where she serves as the program coordinator for Young Winds and as an associate instructor for undergraduate music education courses. Prior to IU, Christina taught band in South Carolina and earned a graduate degree in music education from Colorado State University.

Young Winds will run from Saturday, 1/29/22 – Saturday, 4/31/22.
