The Jacobs Academy Summer Trumpet Academy is a weeklong opportunity for high school age trumpet players to work and perform alongside the trumpet faculty of the Jacobs School of Music. Faculty members John Rommel, Joey Tartell, John Raymond, and Jason Bergman will provide masterclasses on topics including orchestral excerpts, jazz improvisation, lead trumpet playing, solo playing, chamber music, and trumpet fundamentals. Participants will also perform in chamber ensembles that will be coached by the faculty. The week will conclude with a concert featuring each participant and faculty members.
